Hrithik Roshan in Karan Johar’s ‘Shuddhi’

Hrithik Roshan and Karan Johar team up again for an intense love story, titled ‘Shuddhi’ which is based on Amish Tripathi’s novel ‘The Immortals of Meluha’. The movie will be directed by ‘Agneepath’ director Karan Malhotra.
Talking to the tabloid, a source close to Karan said: “Karan and Hrithk had a long meeting last week. Hrithik went through the script at length and then signed on the dotted line. Contrary to rumours, the film is not based on Amish Tripathi’s novel ‘The Immortals of Meluha’.”

Malhotra told the tabloid: “Yes, my next film, Shuddhi, will star Hrithik. It’s a very complex role. Apart from the hero, the film has a strong villainous character.”

The movie will go on floor in November this year. “We will be shooting most portions in Mumbai and Uttarakhand. We are aiming for a Diwali 2014 release,” he added.
Apart from the lead actor, the female lead and villain will also have a prominent role in the movie and the star casts have not yet been finalized. However, it is heard that Deepika Padukone may be approached for the lead role. Karan adds, “I have a big wishlist. And though I want one particular actress to do the film, it would be too early to talk about it. I am too superstitious when it comes to things like these.”
According to Karan Malhotra, ‘Shuddhi’ will be a dramatic-romantic movie. “It is my kind of film. An epic romance. Agneepath was an adaptation but this one is written by me and my wife Ekta,” Karan says.
Their last film ‘Agneepath’ bombed at the box-office, the film entered 100 crore club.
