Bollywood’s leading
ladies seem to be in their experimental mode at the Cannes Film
Festival. While Aishwarya Rai showed her toned figure in a semi-sleeves
gown unlike her usual full sleeves anarkalis, Zoya Akhtar gave a
pleasant surprise in a sari. However, the one who continued with her
stale fashion choices was Vidya Balan.
Undoubtedly, Aishwarya
Rai continues to be the Bollywood queen at Cannes. Standing out in her
black sari after walking the red carpet in a black gown, Aishwarya Rai
did not demoralize her fans with her charm and poise. Not to undermine
Zoya Akhtar who managed to wow the crowds in a simple white sari in a
stark contrast with her casual carefree tomboy look.

The Bombay Talkies gala at Cannes celebrating 100 years of Indian
cinema saw the presence of the four filmmakers who united for the film:
Dibakar Banerjee, Anurag Kashyap, Zoya Akhtar and Karan Johar.
However, Vidya Balan has now been stereotyped in a sari. Appearing
in her usual golden silk sari and bindi, Vidya failed to make a style
statement at the Bombay Talkies gala.
