Ajay Devgan on the Vijaypath

There have been rumours doing the rounds of Ajay Devgan not getting a Producer for his upcoming film directed by Prabhu Deva. Dailybhsakar.com exclusively spoke to a source close to the Production who revealed that the rumours are false and Gordhan Tanwani of Baba Films will be producing the Prabu-Ajay venture. He further spills the beans on his equation with Rohit Shetty and whether the actor will work with Sajid Khan again.

When asked about why were such rumours spread and if he can shed some light on what the truth is to which he revealed, “I don't know how to react to this article, whether to laugh or feel sad about the person who has written it so lamely. He doesn't even have his facts on place. In the first place do you think Ajay cannot afford to produce a film, his production house has given back to back hits like All the best, Bol Bachchan & Son of Sardaar. Secondly, its hard to believe that Ajay approached a studio and his offer was turned down. Just to fill a small corner in the newspaper journos write such things. Truth is none of the big studios were even approached for this film. Since day 1 it was very clear that Gordhan Tanwani who has been Ajay's very close friend is going to produce the film. “


When asked about such a rumours came up after the failure of his previous film , ‘Himmatwala’, to which he stated, “I dont know why an actor is judged from the failure of one film. It was just a film and it didnt work, as simple as that. You tell me all the A listers be it SRK, Akshay Kumar or Ranbir Kapoor, havent they gone through similar situations. But i dont see that there career has come to any kind of pause. Ajay was always "THE MAN" and is still "THE MAN". He has contributed beautiful "cinema" i will say to industry and it doesn't matter that his 1 film didn't work. Part and parcel of work. Sometimes it work and sometimes it doesn't.”



Answering to the question asked about the actor’s association with  Baba films after a long time and whether was this a comeback to which the source says, “Gordhan Tanwani never took a sanyaas from making films, how is it a comeback. This association was well planned for a very long time. Since Ajay was busy and barely had dates that’s why it took so long to materialize. Otherwise the announcement would have been done much earlier.”


The source also confidently agrees to the fact that Ajay and Sajid Khan’s relation wasn’t just for the film and he would definitely love to work with the ‘Himmatwala’ director if there is a brilliant script.


Rivalry between the two big stars in the industry isn’t new to the masses and so is Ajay-SRK rivalry which has come out too directly lately. Rohit Shetty, who has always considered Ajay as his lucky mascot is currently working with Shah Rukh Khan for ‘Chennai Express’. While speaking about whether Ajay’s equation with Rohit has somewhere affected due to this to which he replied, “I am sure not. Neither Ajay is a kid nor Rohit. They are very intelligent and level headed people. You will see 2 of them coming together very soon. And as far as SRK is concerned they aren’t rivals. There is no comparison between them. They are actors of completely 2 different genres.”
