Guys don`t like girls who are too done up and full of themselves: Alia Bhatt

Alia Bhatt doesn't really need any make-up.But when she does, she does it right! At a recent event of a high-end make-up brand, Alia was seen giving make-up tips to her young female fans.

She told CS, `You don't need to change the way you look with make-up. You just enhance your features, adding a bit of colour and have fun experimenting.` Here are some of Alia's thumb rules and her perception of herself:

Kiddy fun
As a child, I used to not like my mother wearing lipstick at all. It used to smudge all over. But the one thing I loved was kajal. It makes your eyes look so beautiful. I would sometimes apply kajal on myself but it would smudge everywhere. I mastered the art of applying it much later.

Make-up essentials
I try to keep it very simple. Depending on the weather and the season, I pick colours. I think for every girl, understanding your own complexion and body type is important. You must know what suits and fits you. You should always be comfortable in whatever you are wearing and must smell good.

So perfume is another important part. Some essentials in my handbag are lip balm, kajal, perfume, hair brush and mascara for parties in the nights, as my eye lashes are not very long.

Impressing a guy
When I dress up in a subtle way, I try to keep my make-up and hair loud. I personally think the more you experiment with your style, the better it is. But at the same time, you must be simple as well.

Guys wouldn't like girls who are too done up and too full of themselves. They want girls whom they can have a conversation with. As for taking care of my skin and hair, I drink a lot of water, eat a lot of vegetables, especially vegetable juices.

Cleansing your skin is important, so I wash my face twice a day - in the morning and before going to bed. Also, I make it a point to moisturise my skin.

Alia is...
I am all about positivity and optimism. I am very optimistic in life right now and everything is turning out to be larger than life for me. I am not exactly girly but not even a tomboy. I have a lot of guy friends and get along with them very well. But I have two best friends - Meghna and Kanchi. They have been with me since I was in school and I can't live without any of them.
