The upcoming Riya Vij
starrer Gippi, directed by Karan Johar will run into another trouble
soon, it seems. Directed by Sonam Nair, the film which deals with the
problems adolescents face, is in news again for its controversial
dialogues.
The Madhya Pradesh Children’s Commission had earlier expressed grave concern over some of the dialogues used in the film. The Commission had also expressed the fear that overweight girls could be nicknamed Gippi after the movie is released.
Now, Madhya Pradesh Children’s Commission met Uday Kumar Varma, secretary, Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, to discuss the film.
Vibhanshu Joshi told that after realizing the impact that the film will leave on kids, a letter has been faxed to the Censor Board.

Uday Kumar Varma,
secretary, Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, said since the
Censor Board is an independent body he can’t interfere with their
decision. He also said he will speak to the representative of Censor
Board and suggest them to remove vulgar scenes and dialogues with double
meanings.
Child Rights Protection Commission member Vibhanshu Joshi feels that Gippi can’t be referred to as a film meant for children.
The commission has opposition to certain messages, which the film, to be released on May 10, appears to convey.
Madhya Pradesh Children’s Commission has to understand that the dialogue, “Mere toh chotey chotey samose jaise hain” will become common parlance.

That’s why it is being
demanded that the film should be watched again and then a decision ought
be taken if the film should be allowed to be released in cinema
halls.
