Madhuri Dixit who has remained one of the most luscious beauties of Bollywood and its acknowledged dance diva, has finished filming the first ever item song in her career spanning over a few decades. She will be seen in ‘Yeh Jawani hai Diwani’ opposite Ranbir Kapoor while performing this item number. Ranbir had long admired Madhuri and was thrilled to be working with her on this song. He had earlier expressed his excitement at dancing with Madhuri, who incidentally, had played the lead opposite his father Rishi Kapoor in quite a few films.
‘Yeh Jawani hai Diwani’ is being directed by Ayan Mukherjee – the director of Wake up, Sid. The entire unit was revved up about working with the dancing diva. A source revealed, “Ayan, Karan Johar, Ranbir want to ensure that Madhuri’s debut in Dharma Productions would be just right. Ranbir is an unabashed Madhuri film. He had a crush on her when his dad worked with Madhuri in Sahibaan, Prem Granth and Yaraana. He would go on the sets simply to watch her. They have to make sure the number turns out just the way audiences expect it to.”
The song has been choreographed by Farah Khan who had earlier worked with the actress in Hum tumhare hain sanam. Dixit had tweeted earlier during the shooting of the song, “Power House of talent together under one roof! Having a great time with Farah Khan.” Despite minor glitches, the shoot was wrapped up over the weekend and dixit tweeted “Finished filming the song for Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani. It was great fun. How u guys like it… I meant HOPE u guys like it.”
Since this is the first item song to be performed by the Dhak Dhak girl and was rumored to be even more appealing than the famous Ek do teen of Tezaab, there was a lot of anticipation surrounding the song. Well, it is out at last and the stills promise quite a lot. It seems that Madhuri is sticking to the tried and tested outfit for her item song. Earlier, when Madhuri did a looks test, Director Ayan Mukherjee stated “It was a photo-shoot to try and figure out her look. We’re still working on it and developing her look.” The look that has been developed matches exactly with that being sported by Aishwarya in Kajra re and Kareena in Fevicol se. Madhuri has shown off her curves in a great ghagra choli and has added a dupatta.
