Sanjay Dutt not allowed home made food in jail

It has been more than a week that Superstar Sanjay Dutt
Sanjay Dutt surrendered himself at the Arthur Road jail in Mumbai after being sentenced to a five year long imprisonment in charges of illegal possession of arms by the Supreme Court, yet the actor is still making news. The latest buzz since he has been shifted to Pune’s high security Yerwada jail revolves around the work that has been assigned to him. Sanju baba will now be doing paper-binding and file-making job during his jail tenure.Life inside jail is going to be tougher for Sanju Baba. Till date he was served with home made food in jail but jail authorities has stopped it and from now and he has to take food served in jail
The 53 year old actor was shifted to Pune’s Yerwada jail on May 22, days after his surrender at Arthur road jail premises in Mumbai. As against all predictions that Sanju baba will be assigned kitchen work at Yerwada, jail authorities changed minds owing to security concerns that had been in question even before the star surrendered on May 16, 2013.
According to jail sources, Dutt has been assigned barrack no. 16656 located in the Maximum Security Enclosure 3. Owing to security concerns, he will now be able to work individually in his own cell. The jail authorities have ensured that Dutt doesn’t have to interact with other inmates of the jail. He will be given wages of Rs 25-40 per day after he finishes his assigned work. Last time, while in jail, Sanjay was assigned the work of making cane chairs one of which was auctioned after he was released on bail. Jail sources have also claimed that his sentence might be reduced if his work and behavior are both found to be satisfactory.
Since the actor was shifted to the Yerwada jail in Pune, his sister and congress MP Priya Dutt had been around to meet him. Although confusions surrounding the issue of home-cooked food being allowed to Sanjay in jail still continue, the actor has been coping well according to inside sources. The actor had carried religious books like the Gita and Ramayan with him when he surrendered just hoping that he overcomes these difficult times soon.
Authorities at the Yerwada jail were always clear that Sanjay Dutt would be treated like a normal convict in jail. As wife Maanyata steps out for promotion of Dutt’s soon to be released film ‘Policigiri’, let us hope that her superstar husband’s ‘jail yatra’ continues with ease and is over soon!
