Vindoo will remain under police remand till May 28

will remain under police custody till May 28th. He was produced before the court today in Mumbai which extended his remand till 28th May. He was arrested on Tuesday from his residence in connection to the on-going IPL spot fixing.  Vindo during interrogation admitted that he bet on behalf of the son-in-law of BCCI chief N Srinivasan, Gurunath Meiyappan. He also informed to police that Gurunath Meiyappan has lost nearly 1 crore in betting. However, Chennai Super Kings franchise claimed that Gurunath Meiyappan is not formally a part of Chennai franchise. Meanwhile, N Srinivasan said that he is not linked to the controversy and added that he is not at all aware of Gurunath Meiyappan’s betting activities.
Reacting to the scandal, Sports Minister Jitendra Singh today said, "These are moral issues, people need to think for themselves." Police reached out to Mr Meiyappan's home in Chennai but he was not at home. Mr Meiyappan's managers attended the summons of the police in Meiyappan’s absence.
Mr Meiyappan has been asked to appear before Mumbai Crime Branch between 11 am and 5 pm today. However, he, has sought more time and will appear before the police only on Monday, sources said.

Police sources claim Mr Meiyappan and Vindoo will be brought face to face to verify his claims.

It is reported that during interrogation, Vindoo had also named some Bollywood personalities. He is accused of having links with bookies involved in spot-fixing.  Vindu, son of Dara Singh has been charged with cheating and forgery.
