Bollywood’s idol couple
Amitabh and Jaya Bachchan are celebrating four decades of their union
today. Inspector Vijay and Mala of Zanjeer who united after the success
of the film Zanjeer in 1973, went ahead in knitting a beautiful
relationship with two kids Abhishek and Shweta. Now, the grey haired
Bachchans are blessed with daughter-in-law Aishwarya and granddaughter
Aaradhya.
Describing forty years of his marriage life as brilliant, Amitabh
shared with his fans the memories of his wedding day and how life has
come a full circle for the superstar. "Here we are now, two children and
three grand children, son in law, daughter in law, relatives and
‘samdhi’s’ in our family fold. God has been very kind !" says the
legendary actor on his blog page.
Refreshing the memories of his wedding day on June 3, 1973 which
now seems to be a lifetime with Jaya for the actor, Amitabh said on his
blog, “Seems like just the other evening I had driven with my parents to
a friends place on Malabar Hill, in the Southern region of the city,
and to a very quick, no fuss, no ‘taam jhaam’, family and a few friends,
and a few close media, wedding.”
Amitabh and Jaya’s nuptials were to be followed by the success of
the film Zanjeer, as he says, “A wedding that had the fulfillment of a
promise, that if ‘Zanjeer’ succeeded we would get married!"
Wising them on their wedding anniversary, we revive the most precious moments of the couple they cherish the most.

Jaya is overall most-awarded performer in the female acting categories, along with Nutan.
