Vidya Balan has returned from the Cannes film festival and she is geared up for the promotion of her first release post marriage, Rajkumar Gupta's directed movie, ‘Ghanchakkar’. The ‘Dirty Picture actress has come up with a unique way of promoting the movie. Vidya has planned to host a kitty party as a part of the promotional strategy. She is going to host kitty party in cities like Chandigarh, Delhi and Lucknow.
Director Rajkumar Gupta too supports Vidya’s promotional strategy and added that such a strategy emerged in his mind after he overheard few ladies sitting in a kitty party and discussing their personal affairs.
"We came up with the idea when Vidya and I overheard a conversation that a bunch of women were having during a kitty party. They were discussing their marriage, how lazy their partners could be and they were sometimes forgetful also.
"We immediately knew that we wanted to throw these parties and talk to the women about their lazy lads," Gupta said in a statement.
Produced by Ronnie Screwvala & Siddharth Roy Kapur from UTV Motion Pictures, ‘Ghanchakkar’ is a crazy rom-com movie which will take the audience to a roller coaster ride.
In ‘Ghanchakkar’, Vidya Balan plays a loud Punjabi housewife of robber Emraan Hashmi. The movie is slated to release on June 28.
The official trailer was released and it looked quite humorous.
