Director Ram Gopal Verma tried to make the contemporary version of Sholay in 2007. But his film titled Aag ended up making it to the list of 100 worst films ever created. The star cast of the film was blamed for the disaster created by RGV.
However, the fans of Sholay are still waiting for a good remake of the film. We have shortlisted the star cast of the film which can break all box office records. Kareena Kapoor and Abhishek Bachchan are favorites for the role of Basanti and Jai respectively.
Abhishek Bachchan is our
choice for the role Jai (originally played by his father Amitabh
Bachchan). The actor has many things in common with his legendary father
including height, intensity and baritone voice. There is no actor who
can be pitted against him for this role.
Dharmendra perfectly
played the role of Veeru in Sholay. Now, with Abhishek Bachchan on board
for Jai, there can't be a better choice than Bobby Deol for the role of
Veeru.
Hema Malini’s daughter
Esha Deol recently said that no actress can play Basanti in Sholay like
her mother. But we think Kareena Kapoor is perfect for the role of
Basanti, thanks to her vibrant acting in Jab We Met.
Rishi Kapoor can be the perfect choice for the role of Thakur.
