Ranbir Kapoor’s Barfi! wins nine awards at IIFA




At the 14th annual IIFA awards, Anurag Basu directed and Ranbir Kapoor, Priyanka Chopra and Ileana D’Cruz starrer, Barfi! won nine awards in the technical category.
The movie won nine awards out of 14 for Best Cinematography, Best Screenplay, Best Production Design, Best Sound Design, Best Song Recording, Best Sound Mixing, Best Background Score, Best Costume, best designing and Best Make-Up.
Anurag Kashyap's directed hugely acclaimed movie 'Gangs of Wasseypur' acquired the second position by winning two awards for Best Action and Best Dialogue, the best dialogue award is shared with Juhi Chaturvedi for 'Vicky Donor'.
Best Editing award went to Vidya Balan's 'Kahaani' and Ganesh Acharya won the best choreography award for 'Chikni Chameli' song from ‘Agneepath’.
Kabir Khan’s 'Ek Tha Tiger' won the Best Special Effects award.
The best actor, actress and film will be announced later at the ceremony. IIFA is a extravaganza award event where A-listers Bollywood stars like Shahrukh Khan, Amitabh Bachchan, Katrina Kaif, Priyanka Chopra and few such big names dazzled under one roof. The show will see some sizzling performances by Bollywood stars. Abhishek Bachchan will perform on his hit numbers.
The IIFA awards will be held at The Venetian Macao Resort Hotel from July 4-6.
