Sharmila to handover her wedding attire to Kareena

Carryring the tradition forward, Sharmila Tagore will handover her wedding attire to Kareena Kapoor This is a tradition going in Pataudi's family for generations. As per Pataudi’s tradition the wedding outfit gets passed from generation to generation. Sharmila wore the wedding outfit of her mother-in-law and now she will handover her wedding dress to Bebo, the new Begum of the royal Pataudi family.
Apart from her wedding outfit, all the dresses that Bebo will be wearing will be designed by Kareena’s favorite designer Manish Malhotra. He is giving final touch to Bebo’s sangeet, mehendi and reception dresses.
Says a source, “When Sharmila married the late Mansoor Ali Khan Pataudi her wedding outfit had been handed down to her by her mother-in-law, Begum Sajida Sultan of Bhopal who had worn it at her own wedding in 1939, as the Pataudi tradition. Apparently Manish has worked with skilled craftsmen over months to restore the wedding dress as the vintage outfit (with gold Benares zari work and fabric in it) needed lots of work and also give it a more contemporary look. The rust orange coloured wedding outfit in shimmering gold and with light blue zari border, includes a kurta, farshi pajama and dupatta made of rust and gold tissue. The veil made of rust orange silk with golden tassels has also been repaired to form the final part of the ensemble. Kareena will be wearing this outfit on October 16 for the marriage registration ceremony at Saif's home.”
As for the sangeet, Bebo’s close pals and family members are preparing some dance numbers from Kareena’s hit films. Maheep and Sanjay Kapoor, Tusshar Kapoor, producer Shabina Khan, writer Niranjan Iyengar, make-up artist Mallika, Kareena’s best friend Reena, Amrita Arora, Shakeel Ladak are busy preparing for the sangeet. The sangeet is being choreographed by filmmaker Karan Johar. Despite busy schedule, Karan makes sure that Bebo’s sangeet must be very one of its kind.
Meanwhile, before the wedding, Saif and Kareena want to complete all the assignments. Saif for personal reasons went to Paris and Kareena too is busy completely her pending works.
