While the makers apparently plan to retain the original cast of Big B and Govinda, David Dhawan may not return as the director
Almost a decade ago when the David Dhawan directed Bade Miyan Chote Miyan released, it had quite a great run at the box office. Buzz is that producer Vashu Bhagnani is all set to make a sequel to his film. But this time David apparently will not be helming the project, which will star the original leads Amitabh Bachchan and Govinda.
A source close to the project says, `Vashu is in the process of making multiple films. He already had the rights to his own film Bade Miyan Chote Miyan, so he thought, why not make it? Vashu's son Jackky, who is also one of the board members in his production house, also approved the idea. The producer is now looking for a team of writers to take the story forward.`
Insiders say that since David is committed to his other projects, including the one with his son Varun, he will not be wearing the director's cap for the sequel.
While Bhagnani remained unavailable for comment, David denied being part of the project. The director stated, `I am busy with Varun's film with Ekta Kapoor. I am not doing part two of the film.`
