Surrogacy seems to be the new trend with Bollywood and Hollywood. More and more couples are opting for babies via surrogacy. It is a blessing for parents who cannot have baby through the natural process. Follows a list of celebrities who have opted for surrogate baby:
Shahrukh Khan and Gauri Khan
King Khan and his wife Gauri have decided to go for surrogacy for the birth of their third child. The baby boy will be born in July 2013. The couple is already having two kids, a boy and a girl. According to a source, it was Gauri’s idea to have another child through surrogacy. The couple has been married for 22 years.
Aamir Khan and Kiran Rao
Aamir Khan and Kiran Rao had a baby boy in December 2011 through in vitro fertilization. They named him Azad Rao Khan. The couple was quite open to media about their surrogacy and they even advised infertile couples to go for surrogacy.
Sohail Khan and Seema Khan
Actor and Film maker Sohail Khan and wife Seema Khan had their second baby boy, Yohan in 2011, through surrogacy. The couple has a 10 years old boy Nirvaan. Sohail is the youngest of the three Khan brothers, Salman and Arbaaz Khan.
Michael Jackson
Late Pop singer Michael Jackson had his third child born in 2002 through a surrogate mother who was a Mexican nurse. The kiddo is named Prince Michael II. In the birth certificate of his third child, name of the father is mentioned as Michael Jackson but mother’s name is left blank.
Matthew Broderick and Sarah Jessica Parker
“Sex and the city” actress Sarah and actor Matthew faced problem with natural conceiving during their second child. So they opted for surrogacy and were blessed with two twin girls, named Marion Loretta Elwell and Tabitha Hodge Broderick. The babies were born in June 2009.
Ricky Martin
Singer Ricky Martin took a challenging decision by opting to be a single parent and in 2008 he was blessed with twin sons, Matteo and Vallentino through surrogacy.
Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban
The couple welcomed their second child in December 2010 through surrogacy. The actors are also the biological parents of the baby boy. They named him Faith Margaret Kidman Urban. Nicole has two daughters from her marriage with Tom Cruise.
Sir Elton John and David Furnish
Singer Sir Elton John and his gay partner David Furnish had their first child in December 2010 through surrogacy.
