Actress Jiah Khan was just 25 years old who stepped into Bollywood on
an excellent note, with ‘Nishabd’ opposite none other than Megastar
Amitabh Bachchan. So, what made this pretty diva commit suicide is still
a mystery which has left the entire industry and the nation reeling in
shock. Depression is touted to be the reason behind the sudden
horrifying step.
Sadly and shockingly,
Jiah wasn’t the first young girl from the industry who succumbed to
death in a way one had never thought of. Model and MTV video jockey
Nafisa Joseph committed suicide in 2003. Her mother Usha had blamed
Nafisa’s fiancée Gautam Kanduja for daughter’s death. Nafisa had gone
into depression soon after Gautan had called off their wedding due to
problems with his ex-wife. Actually, illegalities in divorce papers had
led to take such a decision which took a toll over Nafisa’s life.
Television actress and
former Gladrags model Kuljeet Randhawa of ‘Hip Hip Hurray’, ‘C.A.T.S.’
was 28 when she was discovered hanging from the ceiling fan by her maid
in 2006. The domestic cook found her body lying dead around 7:50 pm as
soon as she entered the posh flat at an apartment in Juhu with the help
of extra keys.
Another unfortunate
case was model Viveka Babajee’s who was found lying dead at her Bandra
home in Mumbai in 2010. Initially, the cops were unable to decide
between suicide and homicide but eventually, it was probed by the
reports of forensic lab that the 37-year old model had committed suicide
because of depression. Her then beau Gautam Vora was kept under scanner
as the last page of Viveka’s diary said, ‘You killed me, Gautam Vora.’
She took such a step after separating from Gautam.
