Jiah underwent an abortion in January –February

The New Year didn’t bring joys and hope in late actress Jiah’s life. As the world was full of hopes and energy with the beginning of New Year, Jiah was fighting with the physical and emotional pain of losing her un-born child.
Earlier this year, around January – February, Jiah underwent an abortion. The doctor who conducted the abortion knew Jiah and Sooraj Pancholi. Sooraj is now in police custody on abetment to suicide charges and police is now verifying Jiah’s letter to determine how her abortion left her emotionally deserted.
In her 6 page letter, the late actress has also accused the person she loved, with the charges of rape, abuse and torture.
“The abortion was conducted in the first two months of this year through pills. We have recorded the doctor’s statement.” said a police officer on Wednesday.
Police also concluded that the letter written by Jiah was not written in a day. It was also not written just before she attempted suicide.  It was written over a period of time.
Subsequently Police has recovered five other letters from Sooraj’s house. The letters were written by Jiah and were short, consisting just a page or two. In the first three letters the late actress has expressed her love for Sooraj but in the last two she has given a hint of the troubled relationship the two were in.
In the custody of Police, Sooraj is being thoroughly questioned. Sooraj has confessed to a year-long a live-in relationship with Jiah. They did not live together per se, but used to frequent each other’s homes.” said Cherring Dorjee, zonal deputy commissioner of police. Sooraj also confessed about the abortion. In his statement, he said that one of Jiah’s sisters knew about her abortion. Police has already recorded her statement and confirmed so.  “Her statement has been recorded,” said Cherring Dorjee, zonal deputy commissioner of police.
"Jiah's mother said in her complaint that her daughter was in a live-in relationship with Sooraj and he promised to marry her. The law says that in such cases, the domestic violence Act is applicable. We are discussing with legal experts and examining the details of their relationship." said a senior officer.
Jiah committed suicide on 3^rd June after a troubled relationship with Sooraj Pancholi. Two days after her death, Police arrested Sooraj from his house. Sooraj is still in police custody.
