Karisma Kapoor turns 39



Bollywood actress Karisma Kapoor turned 39 years on Tuesday.

According to reports, the Kapoor has planned to have a quiet birthday with her family.

Daughter of actors Randhir Kapoor and Babita, Karisma made her acting debut at the age of seventeen with 'Prem Qaidi' in 1991.

She subsequently featured in several commercially successful films such as 'Jigar' (1992), 'Anari' (1993), 'Raja Babu', 'Suhaag' (1994), 'Coolie No. 1', 'Gopi Kishan' (1995), 'Saajan Chale Sasural' and 'Jeet' (1996).

In 1996, she bagged her first Filmfare Award for Best Actress for her performance in 'Raja Hindustani'.

She also earned the National Film Award for Best Supporting Actress for her performance in romantic drama 'Dil To Pagal Hai' (1997).

Karisma garnered critical acclaim for her performances in films like 'Fiza' (2000) and 'Zubeidaa' (2001), for which she bagged the Filmfare Awards- Best Actress and Best Actress (Critics).

She married Sunjay Kapur in 2003, with whom she has two children.

She subsequently took a break from acting after her marriage before featuring in 'Dangerous Ishhq' (2012).
