Priyanka Chopra’s father Dr. Ashok Chopra who was critically ill for quite a long time finally succumbed to death. A physician in the Indian Army, Dr. Ashok Chopra was diagnosed with cancer five years back. Since then he was facing health issues. On Saturday, he was admitted to Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani hospital but finally he lost his life to cancer.
Through out these days, Priyanka was with her father in hospital. She has shuffling between home and hospital. Priyanka even performed Mahamityungay puja for the recovery of her father. She has skipped shoot to be by her father’s side. She was also very upset for few days and expressed her concern and worry about her father on twitter.
Dr Ashok Chopra was fighting against cancer for a long time. Finally, he gave up in the morning. Last year, he accompanied her daughter to Vancouver for TOIFA award.
The actress's father was critical for fortnight but Priyanka did not let know anyone on the set of Mary Kom biopic what she is going through. A source had earlier said, “It`s the same now. Priyanka hasn`t told anyone at her work place how unwell her father is. When she does all the pugilist practice for her Mary Kom role, it`s almost as though she`s venting all her grief through her fists. But now she has postponed all rehearsals.”
Priyanka was very close to her father and she is totally shattered with the death of her father.
