Shahrukh, Shahid to co-host IIFA awards in Macau

The 14^th International Indian Film Academy (IIFA) awards function will begin this year on 6^th July in Macau and according to the reports, Shahrukh Khan

Shahrukh Khan will do the hosting for the event along with Shahid Kapoor. Abhishek Bachchan and Jacqueline Fernandes will also join hands with Shahrukh and Shahid in anchoring the show. Shahrukh last hosted IIFA in Amsterdam in 2005. IIFA weekend will be presented by Videocon D2H. The Tourist department of Macau government is supporting the event. Air India is going to be the official airline partner and the event will be broadcasted by Star Plus.

This is the second time that Macau is hosting IIFA.  Four years back also, Macau was the venue for IIFA awards ceremony. Shahid has shared hosting stage with Shahrukh in various other events. He is quite excited and revealed that he got to learn a lot from senior actor Shahrukh.  Shahid said, “I have hosted with SRK sir before and it’s always a privilege sharing any platform with him”. He also participated in 13th IIFA function.
This is an important year for Indian Film Industry as it completes 100 years of its journey. For this very reason, IIFA Macau will see an increase in the number of celebrities attending the function. It is expected that Ajay Devgan, Salman Khan and Aamir Khan will also grace the event by their presence. These actors seldom attend award functions. The entire Bachchan clan will also be present at the event. Other than these actors other actors like Anupam Kher, Shabana Azmi, Javed Akhtar, Vidya Balan, Irrfan Khan, Anushka Sharma, Shardha Kapoor, Parineeti Chopra, Dia Mirza, Boman Irani, Anil Kapoor, Huma Quereshi, Arjun Rampal and Aditya Roy Kapur are expected to walk on the red carpet.
According to a source, “Amitabh Bachchan, who was the brand ambassador of IIFA in its maiden edition (2000), is being conferred the Lifetime Achievement Award by the organizers. Big B’s son, actor Abhishek Bachchan is expected to jive to a medley of Big B’s numbers to pay tribute to his dad.”
Bollywood actors like Deepika Padukone and Madhuri Dixit will sizzle the stage with their dance numbers. Deepika is expected to perform on her recent hit songs like ‘Tumhi Ho Bandhu’ and ‘Balam Pichkari’. Actor cum choreographer cum director Prabhu Deva will perform with Sridevi. It is very unlikely that Shahrukh will perform on dance numbers as he recently met with a shoulder injury
