The Bollywood industry has received a terrible blow due to the death of the young cinematographer Bobby Singh. He was only 38. Bobby Singh was a great cinematographer and has worked in some of the leading projects in the Bollywood industry. He held a great position of repute in the eyes of the actors, directors and producers. He has shown his brilliance in the films ‘Life…in a Metro’, ‘The Dirty Picture’, ‘Woh Lamhe’, ‘Jannat 2’, and ‘Gangster’. He died this Tuesday. The entire Bollywood industry has expressed terrible grief at such a huge loss.
Bobby was in Goa with his family in order to celebrate Christmas. On this occasion he consumed some kind of seafood which triggered an asthmatic attack due to sudden allergic reaction. He breathed his last when he was on the way to the hospital. The people of Bollywood received a great shock when this young cinematographer died. Bobby was known to almost all the leading members of the industry and had worked with many of them. He was deeply appreciated by all.
Starting with ‘Gangster’ in 2006, till ‘The Dirty Picture’ in 2011, Bobby had created wonders with the camera on the screen. He had a very impressive career graph and had recently finished shooting for a recent upcoming movie, ‘Special Chabbis’. The film had Anupam Kher and Akshay Kumar as lead actors and was scheduled to release on 8th February. The director of the movie, Neeraj Pandey has said that Bobby was a person who has easy solutions to all major problems.
There are several Bollywood stars who have expressed their grief over the demise of Bobby Singh. The veteran director, Mahesh Bhatt, who had produced a number of movies in which Bobby worked, is terribly shocked. He said that Bobby was an ideal cameraman for every producer. He never tried to show his brilliance and delay things. He was a man with pure, natural talent. His work came from his heart, not from any written records.
Twitter was loaded with grief expressions from the Bollywood actors and directors. Actors like Akshay Kumar, Manoj Bajpayee, Jimmy Shergill, Anupam Kher have expressed their condolences. Each and every one of them is terribly shocked to hear the untimely and sudden death on the eve of Christmas. The crew members of ‘Special Chabbis’ are the ones who have received shock the most.
Bobby is survived by his wife, Radhika and Sumer, his five year old son.
