Women make your life feel good: John Abraham

Women make your life feel good: John Abraham

John Abraham on the essence of familial ties, keeping mum about marriage and his next film dedicated to the ladies

John Abraham is having the time of his life. With a series of recent hits in his kitty, the actor is quite upbeat about his upcoming films with Sanjay Gupta as well as Shoojit Sircar's next. While his romance with girlfriend Priya Runchal is blooming, the actor says he has never looked and felt better! An excerpt from an interview...

The New Year looks good for you. Are you planning to settle down soon with Priya?
I guess everyone will get to know once it happens. I have decided to keep quite on this topic now. You will really have to try hard to make me speak about it.

Are you going to do just action films now?
I have to live up to the expectations of my audience. It is true that all my three releases - Abbas Mustan's next, Sanjay Gupta's gangster flick and Shoojit's film are all action-oriented. The audience will see me doing hard-core raw action. I think we never had any particular superhero in our industry.

Gupta thinks that I will be the supehero after doing his films. It is a really big compliment for me. After watching the promos of the film, I have been told that I am the only action star around. It feels nice.

Is romance going to take a back seat as far as your films are concerned?
No, actually in debutant Kapil Sharma's film I am playing a simple guy in love. It is releasing in March around Women's Day and the film is my ode to women. I believe that your family, especially the women, makes your life feel good. The concept of a family is very close to my heart.

Next year looks good for you?
I don't really believe in making any resolution for the New Year but I think my best is yet to come. I want to be fitter and at the moment my production and the rest are going smoothly. I can't ask for more.

Sanjay's movie will prove to be a game-changer for me. My character of Manya Surve has turned out very well and the credit goes to Gupta and producer Ekta Kapoor. I am also working on my gym line. I want to expand soon to other cities as well.

Have you signed Farah Khan's next and the Dostana sequel?
I am not doing Farah's films. Unfortunately the dates coincide with the ones I have pledged for another project. I would have loved to work with her as well as Shah Rukh Khan but there is no point in stretching my schedule and I had to say no.

As far as the sequel is concerned I, Abhishek Bachchan and Tarun Mansukhani are all excited. Now Karan Johar needs to decide when he wants to start the project.

We heard you are helping your brother Alan set up his career?
My brother, who is an architect, is planning a huge project with Suniel Shetty. I would love to help them concepts but Alan has his ideologies. He tells me I should listen to him and I am okay with that. He does not like to be in the spotlight but he is a genius in his field.

In my family everyone has a strong sense of identity. If someone addresses my mother as John Abraham's mom, instead she will quip that John is her son!
