No Eid release for Salman Khan this year

It seems the holiday season during Eid is getting the focal attention from Bollywood this year. Traditionally it has been the forte of Salman Khan. He always schedules his movies to release on Eid and it has been very lucky for him. In the past three years his movies ‘Bodyguard’, ‘Wanted’ and ‘Ek tha Tiger’ released on Eid and went on to become huge hits at the box office. This year around, this has caught the attention of the other stalwarts as well and movies of Shahrukh Khan and Sunny Deol both are scheduled to open on Eid, which will be tentatively August 8^th this year.
However, what we hear from the grapevines is that Salman has bowed out of his schedule for an Eid release. His next project, named ‘Mental’ will release some time later on October this year. Salman was already busy with his other commitments and the shooting for the movie has only started recently. Salman and the producer Sohail Khan both decided not to rush into things and to reschedule the release of the movie to a later date, tentatively on 2^nd October 2013.
A source from the ‘Mental’ project reported, "It's after a long hiatus, and schedules and re-schedules that sets have been erected in Dubai for Mental. It isn't going to be easy for Salman to release the film on Eid this year. Rather than hurry up, Salman and Sohail have decided to release the film in October, which too has long weekends. It's tentatively scheduled for an October 2 release."
There might be some other reason for the delayed release of the movie, the upcoming movie ‘Besharam’ will be releasing around 2^nd October and ‘Mental’ plans to bring the competition to it. The movie ‘Besharam’ is directed by Abhinav Kashyap and stars Ranbir Kapoor. According to the source, "By releasing the film on October 2, Salman would also manage to ruffle feathers in Abhinav and Ranbir's camps."
We wonder aloud why is that and the grapevines tell that Salman was not happy with Abhinav when he refused Salman’s request to direct the sequel of ‘Dabangg’. As for Ranbir, the lover boy is now dating Salman’s ex flame, the beautiful Katrina Kaif. There is no dearth of reasons.
