Bombay Velvet set to release on Christmas 2014

It is not unusual for Bollywood actors to release their movies during festivals like Diwali, Id or Christmas. Anurag Kashyaps Bombay velvet is the latest to jump on the bandwagon, with its release date set for Christmas 2014.

According to a report in PTI, “The shooting for Bombay Velvet will begin mid-July. We have decided to release the film during Christmas 2014. The film is fit for the festive period,” said Vikas Bahl of Phantom Films, co-producers of the movie.

Dhoom 3 is another movie that is being release during Christmas. Blockbusters like Taare Zameen Par, Ghajini and 3 Idiots too came out during the festive season.

Salman Khan’s Dabangg 2 and Shahrukh Khan’s Don 2 also hit the screens during the festive season last year.

Ranbir and Anushka Sharma are playing a romantic couple for first time in the film that portrays the evolution of the city during the early 60s. Also, Karan Johar will be seen in a negative role in the movie.
