Karan, Ranbir, Aditya at Kiran's 'Ship of Theseus' screening

The movie “ship of Theseus” is an Indian drama film directed by Anand Gandhi and presented by Kiran Rao films. On the request of her Bollywood friends, Kiran Rao held a special screening of this movie. Karan Johar, Ayan Mukerji (director of YJHD), Aditya Roy Kapoor, Kunal Roy Kapoor, Farooq Sheikh among others were present at the screening. Ayan is an old friend of Kiran and in the past, they have worked together. So, on his request, Kiran was happy to organize the screening. Crew of “Yeh Jawani Hai Deewani” was present at the screening too.
Director of the movie, Anand Gandhi told that the movie will be released in selected citiesonly, namely Mumbai, Pune, Delhi, Bangalore and Kolkata in association with UTV Motion Pictures. The film was premiered at the 2012 Toronto International Film Festival and received critical acclaim and was called “the hidden gem of the year.” The movie explores the meaning of various concepts like identity, truth, justice, beauty, death through the stories of an experimental photographer, an ill monk and a successful stock broker.
After screening, Karan Johar was all in applauds. He tweeted, “Anand Gandhi's SHIP OF THESEUS is undoubtedly a cinematic masterpiece...emotionally intelligent and geniusely crafted.....a MUST watch.”
Kiran Rao said, “The film has an interesting and an important message. It has a thought which will impress everyone about how all of us are living our lives and how we can live our lives better.”
When Kiran was asked if Aamir will be present for the promotion of this movie, she said, “He won't be there directly in the promotions. But he supports me a lot and if he gets a chance, he will come for the screenings and other promotional activities.”
The movie has been screened in more than eight film festivals. The counsel from UK has listed this movie in the list of movies from across border which can change one’s life.
A source from the organization said, "A group of critics under the Critics Circle of the British Council selected the film for the coveted list. Some of the other films that have received the honour are Annie Hall, Raging Bull, The Battle of Algiers and Hamlet. The film explores questions of identity, justice, beauty, meaning and death through the stories of an experimental photographer, an ailing monk and an enterprising stockbroker. It has been an eye opener for a lot of its audience members."
