Rooh Afza trouble for Ranbir Kapoor's YJHD - funny controversies surrounding the film

Rooh Afza trouble for Ranbir Kapoor's YJHD - funny controversies surrounding the film
After all the hoopla about Gulmarg not being mentioned in the film, the next big controversy surrounding Yeh Jawani Hai Deewani is the lawsuit filed by Hamdard for degrading their age-old famous squash 'Rooh Afza'.

How dare Ranbir say in the film, 'Yeh Rooh Afza bahot kharaab hai'?

Whose the dialogue writer? Get hold of him. The movie should be accused of defamation!

Earlier, controversies - no matter how stupid - had some serious context to them. Like, for instance, standing up for the respect of Sikhs, or jokes being thrown at senior actors or the country's politicos, et al.

Now, over the years, the controversies have come to petitions and lawsuits by product companies like Zandu Balm, Fevicol and now, Hamdard.

Come on, controversies are meant to get the filmmakers worried, give them nightmares, not bouts of laughter!

CONTROVERSY 1
Yeh Nahin Hai Manali...

Just a day after the film's release, J&K chief minister Omar Abdullah had tweeted saying that nowehere in the movie has it been mentioned that they holidayed in Gulmarg as well. While he had given all the rights and permission to the film's team to shoot in Kashmir, they only mentioned and wrongly glorified Manali in the film.

CONTROVERSY 2
Mujhe sirf salary nahin kamaani

After the film's super opening and first week collections, Ranbir had said that even he'd like a 20% share in the movie's profits... instead of the amount for which he'd signed the film. And that creates ripples in the film industry. After all, he can be 'Badtameez' and 'Besharam' only in films!

CONTROVERSY 3
Objectionable Rooh Afza Ki Kahaani
Squash manufacturer company Hamdard National Foundation has claimed that their product Rooh Afza was a household name and the film contained dialogues that degraded their recipe.
In the movie Ranbir Kapoor says twice to his mother,
"Rooh Afza bahot kharab hai" (Rooh Afza is very bad).

The dialogue means that his mother got the ratio of squash and water wrong, which is why it tastes bad.

So, while he meant 'Rooh Afza bahot kharab banaya hai', Hamdard is asking for some Hamdardi from the Delhi High Court! They demand that the movie not be shown on TV with the same dialogue! Do they really think people will stop having Rooh Afza after watching the film? Cetainly,  YJHD spoilt their summer business! Huh!

What will be the next upcoming controversies? We have a few funnier ideas. People, why don't you try out these? Such allegations might help us - and the movie's team - add to our bouts of laughter:

- Deepika is called chashmish in the film
Now, all the geeks should raise their voice against this unfair tagging (sob sob)

-  There are lyrics in the song 'Dilli Waali Girlfriend' that say
'Tere liye hi toh signal tod taad ke...aaya Dilli wali girlfriend chhod chaad ke'
The Traffic Police, has all the right to stand up for their respect and ago and rules and regulations....

"Teenage girls ko freedom do toh woh pregnant ho jaati hain," said Deepika's mom in the film. Now, ain't that a thing to be picked up by Indian teens who rebel for their freedom everyday?

One of Ranbir's dialogue in the film is, "Aap meri maa nahin hai. You are my stepmom."
Shouldn't his sister Kareena Kapoor yell, saying, "Main bhi stepmom hoon, stepmoms buri nahin hoti...." Or even Kiran Rao could say that!

Surely, any publicity is good publicity, no?
