After the super duper success of ‘Aashiqui 2’, Shraddha Kapoor has bagged another promising project. She has been roped by Balaji Motion Pictures, Ekta Kapoor for her next venture, titled, ‘Villain’.
Confirms an insider, “Yes, she (Shraddha) has been selected to play the leading lady, opposite to Sidharth Malhotra. After ‘Aashiqui 2’ turning out to be a huge hit, Shraddha is in demand now.”
The ‘Aashiqui 2’ director Mohit Suri will direct the movie. For a long time, the makers were on hunt for a leading lady opposite Siddharth Malhotra and finally they zeroed upon Shraddha.
Adds our insider, “Post the success of ‘Aashiqui 2’, Shraddha Kapoor was considered the best for the role. Both Mohit and Ekta are convinced that she’s best suited for the character.”
After the success of ‘Aashiqui 2’, Shraddha is very much in demand and so is Siddharth Malhotra. Siddharth was highly praised for his debut venture, Karan Johar’s ‘Student of the year’. ‘Villain’ brings the two stars in the same frame.
The screenplay of ‘The Villain’ has been penned by Tushar Hiranandani of ‘ABCD’ fame and the dialogues have been written by Milap Zaveri, whose last movie ‘Shootout At Wadala’ garnered a lot of praise from critics and audiences worldwide.
Shraddha Kapoor and Siddharth Malhotra will be a fresh pair and it is highly expected that audience will like their chemistry.
