Sooraj Pancholi to remain in jail till July 11




A Mumbai court extended Sooraj Pancholi
Sooraj Pancholi’s judicial custody.  Now, Sooraj has to remain in jail till July 11. Sooraj who was charged with abetting Jiah Khan’s suicide was arrested on June 10th and since then he was in judicial custody. Today was his last day in judicial custody but court summons Sooraj some more days in jail.
22-year-old Sooraj was produced before the Andheri magistrate after his judicial custody ended in the morning.  During the hearing, the police prosecutor opposed Sooraj’s release on the ground that Jiah Khan’s suicide case is in the crucial stage and his release at this juncture might hamper the investigation. They feared that on release the aspiring actor might try to demolish the prove.
On Wednesday, Aditya Pancholi had moved the Bombay High Court for Sooraj’s bail. His bail pleas were earlier rejected both by the magistrate court and the Sessions Court. He will remain in Arthur road central jail till he gets bail.
Sooraj was arrested after Jiah Khan’s mother Rabiya Khan handed over six pages suicide note to police. Jiah hanged herself at her Juhu residence on June 3rd. during investigation it was found that Jiah was pregnant and she aborted her child. Postmortem report claimed that she was not physically abused and they have only found scar on her beck. It was confirmed that she died due to hanging.
Sooraj and Jiah were in a live-in relationship and Rabiya Khan claimed that Sooraj cheated on her daughter. He promised a happy life together and marriage to Jiah but later he left her alone. few more letters were also discovered from Sooraj’s house which was written by Jiah and police the letters were sent to handwriting expert to know whether it is Jiah’s handwriting or not.
Jiah had  a very promising Bollywood debut in 2007 with Ram Gopal Varma’s ‘Nishabd. She plays a teenager in love with her best friend's much older father, played by Amitabh Bachchan. She also acted in ‘Ghajini’ and Sajid Khan’s ‘Housefull’.
