Sooraj Pancholi's bail plea suspended till June 21

Sooraj Pancholi has been remanded in judicial custody till June 27 by the Andheri Metropolitan Magistrate Court on Thursday. He seeks bail plea on Friday but his bail plea was adjourned by Mumbai court till June 21.
Sooraj had been questioned in connection with the suicide case of actress Jiah Khan who hanged herself in her Juhu residemce on Monday, June 10. Her mother turned in a six page letter recovered from her effects to the police. In this letter, Jiah had described how her abusive relation with Suraj has pushed her towards suicide. She described herself to be “heartbroken” in her relationship and fed up with his “womanizing”.  21 year old Suraj, son of actor Aditya Pancholi and Zarina Wahab was taken into custody for questioning. He was produced before Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Seema Jadhav who rejected the remand application to police custody. The court held that no new sufficient evidence has been provided. So he was remanded to judicial custody. Hence he is now free to seek bail.
Public Prosecutor, A.K.Pacharne said, “There were a few vital grounds on which we sought an extension of police custody. The police wanted to interrogate Suraj in connection with the letter which allegedly stated that Jiah Khan was raped and tortured by him. Also, there were a number of messages which were exchanged between Jiah and Suraj on WhatsApp as well as Facebook, which Suraj allegedly has deleted. Hence, the police wanted to unearth those messages.”
The prosecutor argued that police wanted to analyze the handwriting of Suraj and ask him about two letters discovered from the servants of the Pancholi family. Hence the remand application was filed. However, the court said that since no new grounds have been submitted, Suraj will be remanded to judicial custody.
Defense counsel, Zamir Khan argued that the prosecution has failed to produce new evidence. He said, “The letters which the police claim to have recovered from Jiah’s residence are normal letters and have nothing suspicious. Also, my client has cooperated with the police and handed over his mobile phone for the purpose of investigation.”
A bail application has been drawn up where it has been said that the investigation is complete and considering his youth, Suraj should not be kept in police custody. It was also said that he will deal with the allegations at
