Sooraj Pancholi’s judicial custody ends

Sooraj Pancholi ’s judicial custody ends today.  The 22-year-old was arrested in Jiah Khan’s suicide case after Jiah Khan’s mother Rabiya Khan lodged complaint against Sooraj for abetting her daughter’s suicide. Sooraj was in police custody since June 10th. His bail plea was rejected when police received substantial information about him. They feared that if he was set free, he might dissolve the prove. Hence his bail plea was rejected earlier. On Wednesday, Sooraj Pancholi moved to Mumbai court for seeking bail. AdityaPancholi and Zarina Wahab's son Sooraj was arrested by Mumbai police on June 11th. He was found guilty of abetting Jiah Khan to take this extreme step. On June 21st, his bail plea was rejected and the court sent him to jail till June 27th.
Sooraj was arrested when Rabiya Khan handed over to the police a six page suicide note written by Jiah few days before she committed suicide. Though the letter has not mention of Sooraj’s name, it was established that Jiah and Sooraj were in a live-in relationship and Jiah also got pregnant during their romantic relationship. Mr. Pancholi’s lawyer claimed that the letter does not mention his name and moreover said that how Jiah can say Sooraj physicaly and mentally abused her when they were moving around together.
"There is a suicide note, there is a statement of (Khan's) mother and some circumstantial evidence of triggering," said Additional Police Commissioner Vishwas Nangre-Patil to news agency AFP when justifying the arrest.
Jiah’s postmortem report justified that no marks, apart from those on her neck and throat, were found on her body, police said. No traces of alcohol or drugs were found either.
Moreover, Sooraj Pancholi ‘s ex-girlfriend Jhanvi of five years came forward and said that Sooraj is a very well behaved boy and all the claims against him is unjustified and untrue.
Jiah had a very promising debut opposite Amitabh Bachchan in Ram Gopal Varma's 'Nishabd' in 2000. She then starred in Aamir Khan starrer 'Ghajini' and Sajid Khan's 'Housefull' in 2010. She committed suicide at her Juhu residence on June 3rd. she hanged herself to the ceiling fan of her house when mother and sisters were out.
