It was not too long when Aishwarya Rai Bachchan shared the dais with ace cricketer Sachin Tendulkar at NDTV’s ‘Support My School’ campaign where the former beauty queen and actress spoke about girl child education and now she again took the center stage at Zindagi Live Awards with Chief Minister of Delhi Sheila Dixit and cricketer Gautam Gambhir. She looked absolutely stunning at the event in blue salwar-kameez .
"A lot is being said but a lot more needs to be done about it. There should be definite laws for offenders. They should be punished immediately. That is when we will see the change in the society," says Aishwarya, who appeared in the second edition of Zindagi Live Awards.
Delhi chief minister Sheila Dikshit, cricketer Gautam Gambhir and Union minister Farooq Abdullah also attended the ceremony, in which eight women were felicitated who challenged social stigmas.
Citing the Delhi gang rape case, Aishwarya said, "Such incidents still happen though. It also happened the very next day of the Delhi gangrape. But I am glad that we are talking about it. The incident has brought about a lot of attention and awareness but the change needs to come immediately."
Aishwarya who was last seen in Guzaarish in 2010 is gearing for comeback.
