Versatile Irrfan has experimented with various kinds of roles in his career and now wishes to do a hardcore action movie.
He proved his mettle in serious, intense roles like "Maqbool" and "Paan Singh Tomar" and even tickled funny bones of his fans with his funny side in "Life...in a Metro" and "Thank You".
"I have certain ideas in mind, which I want to explore, like action and music. If a good story comes up, then I really want to do an out-and-out action film. Let's see how things fall in place," Irrfan told.
The actor says he has never played safe and believed in experimenting with different genres.
"I have never created a safety net for myself. I have never done that. I have always experimented with various roles," said the actor who enjoys a comfortable relationship with Tigmanshu Dhulia.
They were together at the National School of Drama (NSD) and then Irrfan featured in Dhulia directed "Haasil", "Charas" and "Paan Singh Tomar". He will also be seen in Dhulia's thriller "Saheb Biwi Aur Gangster Returns", coming out March 8.
"My relationship with Tigmanshu is too old to evolve from my last film. We were together in drama school, we have spent a lot of time together and that is the kind of connection we have. It is evolved over the years, and not now," said the 46-year-old.
