Murder 3’ earns 13.31 crores in the opening weekend




Murder 3 ’ is on the winning road making a handsome profit of around Rs13.31 crores in the opening weekend. Fox Star Studios and Vishesh Films' ‘Murder 3’ has been able to drag audience to the theatres. Starring Randeep Hooda, Aditi Rao Hyadri and Sara Loren in the lead, the movie has made 4.12 crore business at the opening day and Saturday being half and Sunday being a holiday for most and with Valentine’s Day around, the movie has shown a pick at the box-office. Directed by debutant Vishesh Bhatt, son of producer, Mukesh Bhatt, ‘Murder 3’ is a thriller comes with a catchy tagline ‘This Valentine love will be murdered’.
The positive word of mouth has dragged the audience to the theatre. Murder 3 released across 1350 screens in India and the opening day collection was highest ever for any solo Randeep Hooda starrer. Mumbai based distributor and exhibitor, Rahul Haksar says," Randeep Hooda has proved that he is now here to stay. The first day figures of Murder 3 is Hooda's career best outing as a solo male lead. The film will give the fraternity greater confidence to take him as solo lead in future projects."
Meanwhile, Arvind Chapalkar, owner of City Pride said, “Emraan Hashmi has been the face of Murder franchise, however, despite there being no Emraan this time around, the audience came out in good numbers to see Murder 3. It goes on to show the power of Murder franchise and also, the rising stardom of Randeep Hooda”.
Prakhar Joshi, from PVR adds,"A U/A certified film, Murder 3 is the first from the franchise where families have come out to see the film. It's taken a turn towards greater content and lesser titillation. The film has a good word of mouth and I am hoping it will hold on during the week...
Sanjay Ghai, COO Mukta Arts pitches in saying, "A debutant director along with a non A lister star cast, Murder 3 had its odds staked up from Day 1. Yet, it did exceedingly well over the weekend. It will be unfair to compare it with Murder 1 and 2 figures because Murder 3's premise is different and it is a woman's oriented subject."
Anant Verma, Business Head, DT Cinemas sums up, saying, "Women showed particularly greater interest in Murder 3. That's because of its connect with women who responded well to Aditi's character, Roshni, who has done a great job in the film."
 'Murder 3’ is a small budget film but the movie is cashing on good profits at the box-office bringing in good amount to the distributors, stakeholders and Vishesh Films & Fox Star Studios.
