Ranveer, Sonakshi flaunt vintage love in 'Lootera'




This July, be ready to experience intense chemistry and vintage love as Ranveer Singh and Sonakshi Sinha acts together for the first time in the period movie ‘Lootera’. Scheduled to be launched on 5th July in all the major cities, Director Vikramaditya Motwane is super excited as the new pair sizzles with their subtle yet intense love on the screen.
The chemistry between Ranveer Kapoor and Sonakshi Sinha is said to be like the other on- screen super-hit pairs. The chemistry between Amitabh-Jaya, Rajesh Khanna-Sharmila Tagore and Shahrukh-Kajol will always be remembered for their passion and intensity. According to Karan Johar, “It’s one of the most exciting lead pairs as they have completely opposite energies. But put together, they have passion written all over them. Romantically sexy is what Lootera seems to be. This is a rare feat to capture on celluloid”.
Getting appreciative of his actors and actresses, director Vikramaditya said, “For me, the most important thing in a love story is the intensity and the passion that my actors bring into playing their characters. Ranveer and Sonakshi have portrayed their love to perfection like seasoned actors even though this is their first film together”. ‘Lootera’ is the second movie for this director after his debut movie, ‘Udaan’, which was critically applauded. The movie is jointly produced by Anurag Kashyap, Shobha Kapoor and Ekta Kapoor.
‘Lootera’ is based on the story “The Last Leaf” by O. Henry. It is an intense romantic drama set in the 1950’s. Most of the shooting has taken place in the old charming city of Kolkata and the dreamy hill station of Dalhausi. Ranveer Kapoor plays the role of a pensive and young archeologist and Sonakshi is the daughter of the zamindar of the village where young archeologist Varun comes for excavation. Both Sonakshi and Ranveer had to attend workshops to learn Bengali language and Bengali culture. Sonakshi said, “I play a Bengali girl. It's an authentic Bengali look of the fifties that I am sporting and they (the director and designer Subarna) have taken a lot of trouble to go through the kind of clothes, jewellery, hair and make-up done in that era”.
Ranveer also attended workshop to learn emoting through the eyes. It is known from the sets of ‘Lootera’ that Ranveer was made to watch movies of legendary actor Dev Anand who was a master in playing intense
