After retuning with a bang with Gauri Shinde’s ‘English Vinglish’, Sridevi is in the news for another two projects. News is doing the rounds that she will be cast opposite her hit co-star Anil Kapoor in the sequel to 1980 blockbuster ‘Mr India’ where Sridevi showed her oomph factor in the most hit song ‘Kaate Nehi Katti Ye Raat’. Her husband and producer Boney Kapoor is zeroing on the project.
Producer Boney Kapoor revealed, "Of course she will be a part of Mr India 2 along with Anil. We are yet to finalise the script but work is in progress." Boney is keen to make the sequel to ‘Mr India’.
Meanwhile, another interesting project coming her way is a film opposite south superstar Kamal Hassan. The actor has informed that he is penning a script specially for Sridevi. Kamal Hassan said, "Yes, I want to work with Sridevi. I'm writing a script for her, so that both of us can act in the film." If things go well then after 30 years Sridvi and Kamal Hassan will be sharing space together. They were last seen in ‘Sadma’.
A friend of the actress said, "She knows about this script. In fact when Kamal was in Mumbai recently, he had informed Sridevi about it. The actress is looking forward to the film."
Meanwhile, there has also been talk of a sequel to English Vinglish. Sridevi seemed thrilled with the thought and had said, "A sequel to English Vinglish is a very good idea. I must talk to Gauri about it."
After getting married to Boney Kapoor in 1981, Sridevi took a break from film. She has two daughters, Jhanvi and Khushi and since both of them have grown up, Sridevi is back to acting. Her performance in ‘English Vinglish’ was highly lauded.
Well, it would be a great treat to see Anil Kapoor and Sridevi on-screen together again.
