Amitabh Bachchan and Jaya Bachchan were blessed with a son on 5th February 1976. Abhishek Bachchan was detected with dyslexia in his early childhood days but he successfully overcame it and went on to complete his education at Aiglon College in Switzerland and later on to Boston University. It was only a matter of time until he followed in the footsteps of his illustrious parents. Finally Abhishek debuted in the film industry with the film ‘Refugee’ in the year 2000.

Yuva
Yuva released in the year 2004 and Abhishek played the role of Lallan Singh in the movie. In the Mani Ratnam directed film he played the role of a goon and portrayed how the young generation is led to the path of crime. His performance was well appreciated by the critics and movie goers alike.
Dhoom
The role of ACP Jai Dixit in the movie Dhoom of 2004 helped him win million hearts. The movie has developed a cult status and made his role immortal.
Sarkar
Abhishek Bachchan got the Filmfare award for best supporting actor for his role of Shankar Nagre in the movie Sarkar (2005). This socio political drama earned him the recognition as an excellent actor.
Bluffmaster
Bluffmaster was his other film that released in the same year as Sarker, 2005. He portrayed the role of a conman Roy Kapoor that entertained the masses and helped him grow his fan base. The peppy numbers of the film also helped in success of the movie.
Dhoom2
The sequel of Dhoom released in 2006 and starred Hrithik, Aishwarya along with him. It went on to be a smashing hit as well.
Guru
This 2007 film again brought together the duo of Maniratnam and Abhishek together. Junior Bachchan did the role of an entrepreneur Gurukant K. Desai. The character was based on the illustrious Indian industrialist Dhiru bhai Ambani. His performance was acclaimed by the critics and he got nominated for Filmfare Award for Best Actor.
Dostana
Dostana was a comic take on the gay relationship. The 2008 film starred Abhishek along with John Abraham and Priyanka Chopra. The slap stick comedy and the romantic story of the film caught the imagination of the movie goers and went on to become a huge hit. Abhishek excelled as a comedian in the role of Sameer Kapoor.
Bol Bachchan
The recent block blaster from Abhishek Bachchan is ‘Bol Bachchan’. This comedy movie of 2012 reestablished his reputation as a comedian. The duo of Abhishek and Ajay Devgan did wonders on the screen and kept the fans laughing.
