Salman Khan’s poaching case postponed

Salman is having a good box office run and the recent time has put him as the numero uno in the Bollywood film industry. His films ‘Bodyguard’, ‘Dabaang’, ‘Ek tha Tiger’ and ‘Dabaang 2’ have been consecutive box office hits and most of them belong to the prestigious Rs. 100 crore club. While Salman is doing well in the professional front, he has not forgotten his social responsibilities. His NGO ‘Being Human’ is doing well for the less privileged ones of the society.
Salman Khan is known to be a good Samaritan. His helpful nature has own him many friends and well wishers in the industry. It is generally believed that a person can always turn to Salman bhai for help if the need arises and he will never turn one down. The unruly days of youth are long gone and no one can compare today’s Salman with the reckless youth of the yester years. He is a changed man who has sobered up immensely.
However, it seems the old history is not yet ready to let go of Salman. The Blackbuck poaching case still haunts the actor. It was during the shooting of the film ‘Hum Saath Saath Hain’ that the actor along with his co-stars of the movie Saif Ali Khan, Tabu, Sonali Bendre and Neelam went for blackbuck dear poaching in the nearby village of Kankani. The village was near to the shooting location. Salman is charged with the killing of two dears on the intervening night of 1^st and 2^nd October 1998. Incidentally the blackbuck dears also belong to the endangered species. We wonder what drove the actors and actresses to such a shameful and irresponsible act on that fateful night! No wonder that Salman must be regretting that day.
Rightfully a case was filed against all the actors to protest against the dirty job they have conducted. The court was supposed to read out the revised charges against all the actors. However, the Jodhpur court has postponed the hearing till 23^rd of March 2013. The judge of the case, Chandrakala Jain is reportedly on a leave.
Earlier Salman Khan was charged with section 27 (Arms act), section 51 (Wildlife act) and section 148 (rioting and use of assault weapons) of Indian Penal code. Salman applied for review petition and charges of section 27 and section 148 were dropped against his name.
