Salman likely to face 10 yrs jail term for hit-and-run case




Life is going to be miserable for Bollywood actor Salman Khan. The hearing of the long pending hit and run case of Salman Khan is going to be take place very soon. A Magistrate’s court today accepted the plea of the Maharashtra government that he should be tried under section 304 (II) of Indian Penal Code (culpable homicide not amounting to murder).
Currently, the actor is tried under section 304 (I), (rash and negligent driving) and under this trial, he will face jail for two years but now the actor is tried under section 304 (II) of Indian Penal Code (culpable homicide not amounting to murder) and if the actor is found guilty under this section then he might face a jail term of 10 years.
As the offense is serious, the Magistrate committed the case to Sessions court for trial, “Salman would have to appear before the Sessions court on February 11,” said his lawyer, advocate Dipesh Mehta.
In 2002, Salman Khan drove his SUV into a bakery in Mumbai injuring four and killing one person sleeping on the pavement.
The trial before the Bandra Magistrate’s court started in 2006.
