The ‘Student Of The Year’ actor Sidharth Malhotra has bagged another promising Bollywood film and guess what the actor will be seen in his next movie. After debiting as a student in SOTY, Sidharth will don the hat of a villain for Ekta Kapoor and Mohit Suri’s joint venture titled , ‘Villian’.
Ekta feels Sidharth is perfect for the angry young man avtaar. “Sidharth was always the first choice, as both Ekta and Mohit were looking for a tall, rugged and good-looking actor. Plus, Ekta’s mother was impressed by Sidharth’s performance in SOTY,” says an industry insider. “Sidharth has become popular among the youth after SOTY. He has the appeal, looks and intensity to carry a commercial action-romantic thriller on his shoulders. He is tomorrow’s angry young man, and we believe that he is the right choice for this film,” says Tanuj Garag, CEO of Balaji Motion Pictures.
Ekta thinks that what Shahrukh Khan and Emraan Hashmi has done before, Sidharth will repeat it after a gap. “a number of our heroes started out their film career playing the angry young man or the bad boy, and that worked wonders for them. but for a long time now, that space has been empty, and we feel sidharth will fill that slot well,” she says.
The female lead of the film is not yet finalised. “The movie will also have a strong villainous character for which the casting will be done in a few days. Also, the makers are yet to decide on the female lead. They have two to three names in mind,” adds the insider.
The film will go on floor very soon and Sidharth is quickly wrapping up Karan Johar’s film 'Hansi Toh Phasi', where is paired opposite Parineeti Chopra.
Sidharth said in an interview that he will love to do action-oriented film and it seems that the time has come very soon. “I would love to do an action film, which will be completely different from the romantic films that I have been doing and getting,” said the actor.
