Singer Mika Singh held at Mumbai airport

The singer Mika Singh was returning from Bangkok by a private airline. He landed at the Mumbai International airport on Wednesday.  The customs department detained him as they found he was carrying more currency on him than that is permissible according to the FEMA (Foreign Exchange Management Act) rules. Mika also didn’t have any proper explanation for this as well.
A custom official confirmed the news and stated that the singer was carrying $ 12,000 and three lakh rupees in cash, while the permissible limit is only $5,000 and INR 7,500.  Any person carrying more than the permissible limit of currency needs to make a declaration at the customs. Mika didn’t do this. Therefore he was detained for interrogation. However, the singer was later released on bail.
Mika had been involved in lots of controversies in the past and this is the latest one in his kitty. His lip locking incident with Rakhi Sawant is almost legendary. The 35 years old Bollywood crooner should sober up now and do what he is supposed to do, belt out the beautiful numbers. We sure hope that this is the last of the controversies in his long list.
