Himmatwala set to hit big screens on March end

Himmatwala set to hit big screens on March end

The much anticipated remake of Himmatwala directed by Sajid Khan, to be released on March 29, promises to stay true to the original while still delivering the punches.

The film is not a spoof of the older film starring Jeetendra and Sridevi, claimed Sajid.

It will feature actor Ajay Devgan, who essays the role that Jeetendra played, fighting with a tiger for the second time after Vijaypath.

Himmatwala (2013) produced by UTV Motion Pictures and Vashu Bhagnani and will feature Ajay Devgan opposite southern actress Tamannaah in the lead roles.

Written in the 1980s style the movie promises to be worth its salt with a fair dose of mother-son drama, the hero fighting a tiger, the hero saving the whole village and then befriending the tiger.

The most awaited scene however in the movie is the entry of the hero which the director is very excited about and guarantees will leave the audience clapping.

The original hero of the movie Jeetendra will make a special appearance along with Akshay Kumar.

Sajid Khan has tried to keep as many 1980s references intact to keep the essence of the film, even imitating the poster of the older movie.

The original Himmatwala (1983) directed by K. Raghavendra Rao, starring Jeetendra and Sridevi was the highest grosser of the year.

It started the wave of the southern cinema (in Bollywood) with matkas, over-the-top dialogues and Kadar Khan and Shakti Kapoor pairings for comedy and villainy, according to the makers of the remake.

Sajid Khan has so far directed three super hit films, including Housefull and Housefull 2.
