Bollywood has often been caught in legal tangles for some or the other reason. Here are a few celebrities who are still caught up in these issues.
Sanjay Dutt
It’s been the most talked about case recently. He has been charged for the possession of arms during the serial blasts that took place way back in 1993 in Bombay. A week back, the Supreme Court gave the final verdict which states that Sanjay Dutt has to serve 5 years in prison, of which 18 months he has already spent in jail. It is being said that Sanjay is not applying for pardon and will surrender within the 4 weeks that he has been given.
Salman Khan
Coming close to the heels of Sanjay, Salman Khan awaits the final verdict on his case. He was charged under the Wildlife Protection Act for the poaching of the protected animal, Black Buck and 2 chinkaras. While shooting for his film, ‘Hum Saath Saath hai’, the cast decided to go hunting on one of the days. The case has been pending since 1998 and April 27 2013 is the date for the final hearing of the same.
Shah Rukh Khan
He seems to be controversy’s favorite child. During one of the Indian Premiere League matches, Shah Rukh Khan was accused of entering the stadium drunk. He allegedly misbehaved with the guards present and had been banned from the entering the Wankhede stadium by the Mumbai Cricket Association for 5 years.
Saif Ali Khan
He was charged in the Black buck case for hunting and inciting Salman Khan to hunt as well as unlawful assembly. Also, he got into a scuffle with a NRI at the Taj Hotel in Mumbai. In high spirits, he allegedly pushed the guy, and then got into legal trouble for the same.
Rajesh Khanna
Although the actor passed away in 2012, his lover Anita Advani sent a legal notice to Aashirwad a day before he closed his eyes. She was said to be in a live in relationship with the actor for 8 years before that, and hence claimed right on his bungalow.
Amitabh Bachchan
The apex court of the country has issued a legal notice to him. The Income Tax department appealed for the same. It is regarding his earnings on the show “Kaun Banega Crorepati”( during 2001-2002). It states that the actor still requires to pay an amount of Rs. 1.66 crore as tax for his earnings.
Sushmita Sen
Sushmita Sen was also trapped in legal hassle for virginity. Madurai branch of the Madras High Court issued a notice to her over her comment on pre-marital sex.
Well, Bollywood has surely been a victim to some hard hitting controversies.
