King Khan has finalized the location for the shooting of his next film ‘Happy New Year’ in a lavish resort in Dubai. The film with five male and one female leads will be directed by Farah Khan. The industry is agog to see the latest production of this hit couple who last came together as director and lead artist in Main Hoon Na (2004) and Om Shanti Om (2007). This is the second time in recent years that Bollywood stars are headed to the Emirates for shooting. Recently, Salman Khan shot parts of ‘Mental’ in Dubai.
Shah Rukh Khan is presently busy with shooting his comedy film, ‘Chennai Express’. In the meantime, locational scouts have been looking for places to shoot his upcoming film ‘Happy New Year’. Finally, it has been decided to shoot a large part of the film in the futuristically designed Atlantis Underwater Resort in Dubai. Shooting is set to start in August.
According to a reliable source, "While Farah has been busy finalizing the leading lady, her other crew members have already finalized some of the places where the film with five male and one female lead, will be shot. This underwater resort is where an important sequence of the film is shot."
Shah Rukh Khan owns a villa nearby at the Palm Jumeira Resort. The shooting crew will be camping there for a month.
The source added, “The stage is set. Thanks to SRK’s great rapport with Dubai, team ‘Happy New Year’ will have exclusive access to the property. What ‘Mission Impossible’ did to Burj Khalifa, HNY will do to this resort.
While the resort has been booked for almost a month to cover the shooting schedule, rumors are surfacing regarding the female lead of the film. Director Farah Khan has been busy looking for SRK’s girl for ‘Happy New Year’. Though there was some talk of finalizing Priyanka Chopra for the lead, the Director dismissed the rumors saying that nothing has been decided yet. She is still on the lookout for the female lead.
Farah declared herself thrilled for the opportunity of working again with Shah Rukh. “It’s going to be the biggest movie of our careers in terms of scale and production. We will be working together after a very long time. I’m really looking forward to it,” she said.
