Jolly LLB wins the case at Box Office

Arshad Warsi starrer Jolly LLB opens to an estimated Rs 3.12 crore on its first day on Friday.

Trade analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted Jolly LLB picked up substantially in evening/night shows across the nation on Friday. "Collects *early estimates* Rs 3.12 cr on Friday, " he tweeted.

Of the three movies that were released this week Subhash Kapoor's Jolly LLB was reportedly the best received. Critics all over gave the movie thumbs up with a minority saying the movie could have done better.

Arshad Warsi as the lovable lawyer who muddles his way around the courtrooms, with the brilliant Boman Irani who plays an ambitious and successful lawyer, bring the movie to life.

The story follows a struggling lawyer Jagdish Tyagi aka Jolly (Arshad Warsi) from Meerut to Delhi who has a burning desire to make it big in the courtrooms. To fulfil is ambition, he finds a loophole in the argument made by a celebrated lawyer Rajpal (Boman Irani), and then files a PIL against him. This move changes his life forever.

Saurabh Shukla as the seasoned judge who oversees the procedures of the case gives the movie an added zing.

What follows is a combination of satire, thriller and courtroom drama which also manages to give a commentary on the Indian society and judicial system.

Amrita Rao plays the role of the teacher who is Jolly's love interest in the film.
