'Chak De! India' girl's image misused for a brand promotion

'Chak De! India' girl's image misused for a brand promotion
Sagarika Ghatge of ‘Chak De! India’ fame was recently taken aback by a promotional campaign. Actually, a famous brand has been promoted with her name, without her knowledge. The publicity has been carried in a popular publication along with outdoors and hoardings all over Maharastra on March 26 and March 27.
Sagarika’s spokesperson Varun Gupta informs, “Sagarika was in a contract with the agency for a period of 15 months, which got over in mid 2011. So, the company has no rights and authority to carry my client picture or use her reputation and image for selling/publicizing/marketing your product/brand, this is a serious offense and need to be resolve immediately.”
“Despite regular notices and proper solutions to resolve the issues, the agency has paid no heed to our complaints. Now, we have sent a legal notice to them,” the spokesperson adds.
It remains to be seen, whether issue will be resolved or things will be dragged in the court.
