Emraan Hashmi's latest outing Ek Thi Daayan starring Konkona Sen
Sharma, Kalki Koechlin and Huma Qureshi in female leads, opened to good
response, but has failed to show improvement on the following days. The
horror movie has done an average collection at the Indian Box Office in
the first week of its release. Its seven days business is not up to the
mark of the hype surrounding the film, prior its release.
Ek Thi Daayan registered good amount of occupancy at multiplexes in
metros, but its business was lower than expected in mass-dominated
circuits. The movie received rave reviews from film critics and a
positive word from movie buffs. But these aspects did not reflect much
on its collection. So, the movie ended the first weekend with an earning
of Rs 17.10 crores nett at the domestic Box Office.
The business of Ek Thi Daayan dropped considerably on Monday and it
continued to collapse throughout the week. The movie did not perform to
its optimum, despite getting positive word of mouth. On the weekdays,
the film has collected approximately Rs 7 crores nett, taking its seven
days domestic total to Rs 25.80 crores nett.
However, this week's new releases - Hindi movie Aashiqui 2 and English
film Iron Man 3 have opened to a bumper start at the desi Box Office.
Trade experts feel that these flicks would send down the business of Ek
Thi Daayan further in the second weekend.

perform this weekend.
