Today, an on-screen kiss is not considered a big deal in Bollywood. Some actors have, in fact, created history by giving maximum number of kisses in a film. Some have even managed to win the 'serial kisser' title. In fact, a handful of actors, who had once vowed not to kiss onscreen, had to even bow down to the demands of the industry.
But, things were not always the same in Bollywood. There was a time in the Indian cinema when kissing on-screen was considered a taboo. However, these barriers never stopped actors to kiss on-screen - no matter whether the seen will be shown to the public or not.
The first onscreen kiss in the history of the Indian cinema was shot back in 1933 between Devika Rani and her husband Himanshu Rai in Karma. However, the scene did not go on air, but it became widely popular.
