Nautanki Saala and Commando doing good at the box-office




This weekend saw the launch of two new movies. These are the comedy of errors film ‘Nautanki Saala’ and the fast paced action packed movie ‘Commando’. Both are reported to be going strong in the box office though they opened to a mixed response last Friday.
According to trade analyst, Taran Adarsh, Nautanki Saala made a fair business of Rs. 13 crores in the opening weekend at the box office. "#Nautanki Saala collected approx Rs 13.25 cr nett in its opening weekend. Breakup: Fri 3.25 cr, Sat 4.75 cr, Sun 5.25 cr," tweeted Adarsh. Business has picked up over the weekend and it is doing great especially in the multiplexes of the urban centers. The film has been released in limited screens overseas and has performed best in UAE though its collection is somewhat below par at USA and UK.
‘Nautanki Saala’ is a Ramesh Sippy film directed by Rohan Sippy and stars Ayushman Khurrana and Puja Selvi in the lead roles supported by Kunal Roy Kapoor and Evelyn Sharma. The story revolves round RP who plays Raavan in Raavan Leela. He meets Mandar Lele who is in depression and lonely. RP tries different ways and his acting skills are tested to their limits as he tries to arouse Lele from his depression.
Another film which opened this weekend is ‘Commando’. It is an action packed movie and is reported to be doing strong business, especially at the single screens in urban centers.
The film revolves round Captain Karanvir Dogra who is a commando with the Indian paratroopers. He crashed into China and then escapes, taking a circuitous route through Himachal Pradesh. On his way, he meets Simrit who is escaping local goon who wants to marry her. Dogra promises to help Simrit and is soon embroiled in a cat and mouse chase where he has to save Simrit and end the reign of terror practiced by the goon in the local area.
Filled with fast paced action, ‘Commando’ is produced by Vipul Shah and directed by Dilip Ghosh. Vidyut Jamwal and Puja Chopra are in the lead roles and music has been directed by Mannan Shaah.
The film had a strong opening on Friday though there was a dip in sales in Saturday. It recovered on Sunday and has done fair business at the box office collecting a total of Rs. 11.18 crores in its first weekend.
