Ajay Devgn had been working really hard for his film “Son of Sardaar” which starred Sonakshi Sinha and Sanjay Dutt. Before the release of his film, “Son of Sardaar” was in the news for various reasons.
First, the film clashed at the box-office with late filmmaker Yash Chopra’s last venture “Jab Tak Hai Jaan” that starred Shah Rukh Khan, Katrina Kaif and Anushka Sharma. Second, there was a tiff between the two production houses, with Ajay Devgn’s production house filing a case against Yash Raj Films over suspecting them to stop their film’s release.
However, now with both the film’s having released, and with “Son of Sardaar” doing pretty well Ajay Devgn has all the reasons to smile. The film got stiff competition from YRF’s “Jab Tak Hai Jaan” which released in 500 theatres more than that of “Son of Sardar”. Still, “Son of Sardar” has managed to pull in cine-goers to watch his film and this has got Ajay Devgn motivation to party, and how.
Ajay Devgn has decided to take his wife Kajol on a short vacation to Goa. His kids, daughter Nysa and son Yug will accompany them on this holiday.
Also, this vacation at Goa has helped him stay away from the post-release controversies and comparisons that sometimes get very ugly. This vacation has helped him steer clear of the entire hullabaloo surrounding the release of these two films.
A source who is close to this family said “Devgn is very thrilled that his film has managed to bring in large crowds in spite of a stiff opposition from Yash Chopra’s film, which had 500 more theatres to boast of. It has managed to turn out as his biggest opening ever in many centres and he felt that he has achieved what he had set out for. Devgn had been very busy and tired with the film’s promotions and court cases.”
Latest on this has been that the actor and his family have been put up at a hotel in Goa. It has been reported that he has been keeping a tab on his film’s collections from Goa. The source also added “He plans to return by Monday.”
It is also being speculated now that as the film has been successful at the box-office soon there could be parties held for celebrating this occasion. This will only happen after he returns from his short trip at Goa
