“Jab Tak Hai Jaan” has been getting all the attention since its inception. The film was to be Yash Chopra’s last directorial debut, which actually turned out to be so as he breathed his last on the 21st of October, 2012.
The film stars Shah Rukh Khan, Katrina Kaif and Anushka Sharma in pivotal roles. It released on the 13th of November, on Diwali, along with the Ajay Devgn, Sonakshi Sinha and Sanjaya Dutt starrer “Son of Sardar”.
This film, “Jab Tak Hai Jaan”, has turned out to be the highest grosser for a Shah Rukh Khan film. The film had the biggest opening ever this Friday. He has 75 films to his credit, with none grossing as much as “Jab Tak Hai Jaan”. The film not only bagged positive reviews from the film critics, but it also received an overwhelming response at the box-office.
According to Taran Adarsh who is a renowned trade analyst, this has been the most profitable film of SRK. He declared this tweeting. “#JTHJ India biz [15.23 cr nett] is *highest ever* for any film released on Laxmi puja day. It is also @iamsrk's biggest opener so far."
This film has been screened at 2500 screens. The film has minted moolah worth Rs 15.23 cr on its first day. In comparison, Ajay Devgn produced “Son of Sardar” that released in 2000 screens has collected Rs 10.72 crs on the first day itself.
The second day collection of JTHJ has been Rs 19.54 crores, which makes the film collect a total of Rs 34.77 cr. According to Taran Adarsh “Some circuits data received, some still pouring in. Both #JTHJ and #SOS had a FANTASTIC Day 2 in India.”
He also tweeted about “Son of Sardar”, saying, “,"#SOS [India] Tue 10.72 cr, Wed 16.21 cr. Total: 26.93 cr nett. SUPERB."
It has been a total of four days for the film (JTHJ) at the box-office and it has collected a grand total of 60.39 crores. This means that with another Rs 36 crores, the film will cross the 100 crore mark that all films aim at these days. The occupancy has been ranging from a 90% to a 100% on the domestic front all this while and if it continues to do so it will easily enter the 100 crore club.
Also, these figures clearly prove that SRK’s JTHJ is leading and raking in more moolahs than Ajay’s SOS.
